Canadian Geographic!! How amazing! I love to see all the recognition you and the book are getting!

DeleteHi Mel. I am so happy for the well-deserved recognition you are receiving for your book. I read it some time ago and since then I have thumbed through it to look at the great photos. Yesterday I photographed your spark bird, the Black-capped Chickadee and thought about your while I was taking the photos. I know I don't comment often but I do read everything you post.

Thank you Jim for your kind words hope to see you soon it has been far too long! Nice you photographed my spark bird :D
DeleteThank you again Mellisa for all the incredible work you do for youth, birds & conservation of biological diversity!! Its great you included a beautiful thrush like a Veery in this article! Their distinct resonating song can literally take us into a new dimension when we stop to listen! Avian lives provide a multitude of incredible chorus - yes we need to give back, all pitch in to protect diversity - what would a world be without bird song.! Healing starts with hearing, a warm heart, and our feathery friends that carry on and persevere as you've described in your beautiful book!!
ReplyDeleteThank you kindly! I agree without bird song the world would be far duller and why I wrote a chapter about this in the book I also agree with you about the beautiful song of the veery.
